Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas is getting a lot of criticism on social media after not putting her hand on her heart during the national anthem and not showing much excitement for her teammates. However, while she is getting a lot of hate on social media, she is also getting a lot of love.
She has been deemed Crabby Gabby on social media after the camera panned over to a seemingly less-than-enthusiastic Douglas while her teammate Aly Raisman was competing in the All-Around competition for Team USA.
Douglas won the gold in the London Olympics and this time she did not qualify. Now she is getting a lot of flak for bad sportsmanship.
Super disappointed in (at least the appearance of) the lack of sportsmanship for her OWN TEAMMATES. #crabbygabby— Leah A. Neal (@LeahANeal) August 12, 2016
However, a lot more people, even celebrities, are coming out on Douglas' side, defending the gymnast. Comedian Leslie Jones from Saturday Night Live tweeted so much during the Olympics that she got sent to Rio to cover it.
Jones started the now popular hashtag #LOVE4GABBYUSA. Other celebrities like Kerry Washington, Shonda Rhimes and Gabrielle Union joined in with support as well.

Douglas' response to all of it? At first her mother said she was heartbroken, but now she has tweeted:
Thank u so much for all the love! My heart is full! @Lesdoggg ❤️ I love you guys!❣😘😍— Gabrielle Douglas (@gabrielledoug) August 15, 2016
