The largest rose garden in the Sacramento region -- if not Northern California -- is right here in Orangevale.

It's Baldo's Acres on Hickory Avenue near Oak Avenue and planted and run by Baldo Villegas.

Villegas is a retired entomologist (insect expert) for the state of California and began planting his more than 3,000 roses five years ago.

They now cover part of an acre on his property.

The roses were in their first full beautiful bloom of the season on Easter Sunday and were quite colorful and spectacular.

KFBK Senior Editor Judy Farah stopped by and took these pictures.
