Luis Bracamontes, the man convicted in the killings of two Northern California sheriff's deputies, is being sentenced today in the officers' deaths.
A Sacramento County jury unanimously recommended the death penalty for Bracamontes in March.
Bracamontes was in the country illegally after being deported twice to Mexico. He was convicted in February in the 2014 shooting deaths of Sacramento County sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County sheriff's Detective Mike Davis.
