Six new names were added to the California Peace Officers' Memorial today.
The ceremony at the state capital honors those each year who make the ultimate sacrifice for the communities they serve.
This year, two local heroes were added to the memorial in the names of CHP officer Lucas Chellew and Sacramento County Deputy Robert French.
Governor Jerry Brown was joined by Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Xavier Becerra and officers from across the state who traveled to the capital to honor the fallen.
