Investigators are looking into multiple cases of airbag theft from just the last month in Sacramento. In at least some of the cases vehicles the thieves broke into are reported to be 2013 or new model year Civic Hondas. The thefts tend to happen in the early morning hours and usually involve the driver-side airbag.It can take up to ten minutes for an airbag to pulled out of a car and it can't be done quietly.
That's why police are recommending you park in a garage if possible, report to the police any suspicious noise or activity where your car is parked, and think about getting any of the several steering wheel devices on the market to deter thieves.
