The Bureau of Reclamation invites you to attend a free viewing of its new feature film Shasta Dam - California’s Empire Builder, at the historic Cascade Theatre in Redding on Saturday, July 21. Doors will open at noon with a short introduction starting at 1 p.m. with the film’s director and producer Gary Warriner.
Built during the Great Depression and World War II, the construction of Shasta Dam is the story of hard work, engineering and a can-do spirit that changed California forever. Shasta Dam is a major supplier of water and energy for California and provides flood control for the Central Valley. Today, millions of dollars are brought into the local economy through agriculture and recreational opportunities.
Join us to view this landmark film with a raffle, exciting door prizes and in-person interviews. Following the screening, Warriner will be available to answer questions and sign copies of the DVD. The Cascade Theatre is located at 1731 S. Market Street.
