The suspect who had barricaded himself inside a Sacramento hotel has been taken into custody. The man had been barricaded at America’s Best Value Inn off Mack Road since early this morning.
Witnesses say the man had been shooting his weapon for hours before he barricaded himself in a room. Several people were asked to evacuate the hotel during the incident which started around 1:30 a.m.
The unidentified suspect shot at officers as they were setting up the perimeter. No injuries are reported.
People are being urged to stay away from the area, and the Sacramento California Highway Patrol office, which is next to the motel is closed for business until further notice.
