While the winter storm approaching Sacramento may likely close some roads in our area, it will actually be keeping the Tower Bridge open. Caltrans had planned to close the bridge to replace worn bearings on Sunday. That requires using a helicopter to remove sheave assemblies. The storm makes that work hazardous, so it's being postponed. Caltrans says work on the bridge will now continue into March.
