Hitler Exchange Between Conservative And CA Congressman Blowing Up Web

A California congressman find himself at the center of controversy along with a conservative commentator and political activist that continues to light up the Internet.

" I think it's pretty apparent that Mr. Lieu believes that black people are stupid and will not pursue the full clip in it's entirety," said an angry Candace Owens during a congressional hearing regarding online hate speech. Owens is black.Owens, who happens to be black, was referring to Democratic California Representative Ted Lieu after he played back recorded comments she made about Adolph Hitler in an interview on the subject of nationalism.

In the clip played by Lieu, who has represented California's 33rd congressional district since 2015, Owens could be heard saying she doesn't have a problem with the word nationalism and that the problem with Hitler is that, as Owens put it, "He wanted to globalize. He wanted everyone to be German." Owens accused Lieu of taking her comments out of context for the sake of a smear. The full exchange can be seen in the video below.

Owens noted for the committee that during her comments made last December that she went on to call Hitler "a homicidal, psychopathic maniac that killed his own people." She said a nationalist would not kill their own people.

Following the hearing the video of the exchange began to go viral, and Lieu's Wikipedia page was briefly altered to indicate that since April 10, 2019, the congressman "has been owned by Candace Owens." The entry was quickly deleted.
