Professor David Zuckerman calls his class on terrorism the most current class on campus. Almost every week he and his students have a new case to discuss. "How do we unpack New Zealand? How do we unpack Poway? How do we unpack the justice department interdiction of another, what would've been another horrific spat of terror attacks in LA?" Zuckerman says the students are engaged and focused and eager to discuss motives and tactics.
The class spends a lot of time discussing the online manifestos of terrorists and what law enforcement can glean from the statements. "One of the things that shocks my students is when I tell them terror is not an ideology, its a set of tactics".
