Smart Planes Coming

With self-scanning e-gates and facial recognition, the passenger's journey through airports is already changing. Soon the flying experience will get an upgrade. Airlines are working to put data-points collected through security to work on the customer experience with overhead bins that visually signal space with red or green lights or entertainment and temperature options pre-loaded at a customer's seat. The smart options could work for airline staff as well, enhancing safety for flight attendants and convenience for passengers. Instead of walking up and down aisles making visual checks of seatbelts, a mobile device might notify attendants of an unbuckled belt. Click the attached audio clip to go more in depth on the coming smart plane experience in this KFBK Morning Show segment. Join Sam Shane and me each weekday morning from 5am until 9am.
