"BARK" is the Local App Having National Impact on Student Safety

We talk a lot about the pitfalls of technology but this is one app that schools and parents love.

A Rocklin company is having national impact with an app called "BARK", that monitors social networks looking for language or pictures or video that could indicate trafficking, bullying, suicide or threats of school shootings. The website claims the company has thwarted 16 potential school shootings through early detection. The technology uses artificial intelligence trained with 2 billion conversations between teens and tweens over four years. Below is our segment with BARK founder Lisa Thee and Superintendent Ruben Reyes of the Robla school district, one of 1200 around the country currently using the technology.
