Colin Kaepernick is among those critical of President Trump's decision to order a drone strike in Iraq that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. On Saturday, Kaepernick took to Twitter to accuse the United States of targeting minorities "at home and abroad," just days after the attack on a man some have described as having American blood on his hands.
In a separate tweet, Kaepernick decried "American imperialism" and accused the administration of using the military of "policing and plundering" the nonwhite world.
Reaction to the tweets has been mixed with tens-of-thousands of people liking them, but others claming Kaepernick is allowing himself to be blinded so much by race that he's willing to overlook the crimes against innocent people by regimes.
The ex-NFL player previously faced a wave of backlash after he claimed to protest systemic racism by kneeling during the National Anthem. On Thanksgiving, Kaepernick attended an "Unthanksgiving event" where he accused the United States of stealing "over 1.5 billion acres of land from Indigenous people."
