Sac Metro Fire Captain Chris Vestal talks about the Burn Awareness Week
Firefighters from many of the fire departments serving Sacramento and surrounding communities will support the Firefighters Burn Institute in our annual Firefighter’s “Fill the Boot for Burns” Boot Drive. FFBI hosts its Boot Drive each year in conjunction with National Burn Awareness Week in Citrus Heights at the corner of Sunrise Blvd. and Greenback Ln. at the Sunrise Mall in the Sunrise Marketplace. Firefighters will spend their day shaking their boots and volunteering their time to collect donations to support the Firefighters Burn Institute and assure the best possible burn treatment and recovery programs are available in our communities.
Our “Kick Off” will be held in conjunction with the “Media Challenge” on Friday, February 7 that 8:30 a.m. The Firefighters Boot Drive is open to the public and will include a FREE Safety Fair on Saturday, February 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.to be held outside Sunrise Mall,weather permitting.
Fire agencies in 20 Northern and Central California counties are also hosting “Fill the Boot for Burns” Boot Drive events during the next several months benefiting Firefighters Burn Institute.
