Sysco Pop-Up Truck Heads to California State Capital to Benefit Family Meal Sacramento on Friday. Sysco, a global distributor of food products to restaurant, education and healthcare industries, is taking an expanded menu of items to Capitol Mall in Sacramento on Friday, May 22, 2020 during its third retail Pop-Up Truck event. Profits will be donated to Family Meal Sacramento, a partnership between five Sacramento restaurants working to supply thousands of community members in need with free, pre-cooked meals each week throughout the shelter-in-place period.

Interested consumers must purchase pantry and kitchen staples directly from the food distributor through itswebsitebefore 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 21st. The Pop-Up Truck sale will feature an expanded variety of items including fresh produce, such as bananas and oranges; pantry staples, including flour, rice and beans; and a wide range of meat, such as pork, steak and chicken. Orders must be picked up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, May 22ndat 500 Capitol Mall. Sysco staff will place items directly into customer vehicles, allowing Sacramento residents the ability to avoid large gatherings and long lines at grocery stores.
