RECOVERY GRANTS NOW AVAILABLE TO DAMAGED DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES

Just as downtown businesses were reopening following closure to protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic impacts were further exacerbated when many of these businesses sustained damage and theft in the final days of May. For many of our businesses, it’s going to be a long road to reopen and it’s going to take significant effort. It will require the support of everyone.

The public can now make tax-deductible donations to support downtown businesses recover at GoDowntownSac.com/donate. All donations will fund Downtown Recovery Grants tohelp small, locally-owned businesses in downtown Sacramento to rebound and keep the heart of our region beating.

Seeded with a $30,000 contribution by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, the public can donate online at GoDowntownSac.com/donate or mail checks made out to the Downtown Sacramento Foundation at 980 9th Street, Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95814.

DOWNTOWN RECOVERY GRANT

To jumpstart recovery efforts, the Downtown Sacramento Partnership has expanded its recently launched Storefront Safety Assistance Program to issue grants as soon as possible to vandalized and/or damaged downtown businesses. The Downtown Business Recovery Grant will issue grants up to $1,500 to businesses in the 66-block district managed by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership property-based improvement district (PBID) to directly cover the cost of their insurance deductible or storefront repair. With 8 grants already issued, funds will be dispersed until donations have been depleted.Downtown businesses can learn more and apply at DowntownSac.org/recovery.
