It could take months to vaccinate all Californians 65 and older.
State epidemiologist Dr. Erica Pan says it could take 20 to 22 weeks or until June for California to vaccinate seniors 65 and older. The Golden State has more than 6 million residents 65 and older and to vaccinate 70% of them, the state would need more than 8.7 million doses. Pan says California is only getting 400-500,000 doses of the vaccine each week from the federal government.
