The heavy National Guard presence around the State Capitol did not stop demonstrators taking to the streets on Inauguration Day.
Sacramento Antifa had called for the protests on social media and arrived in downtown Sacramento wearing black and carrying umbrellas and shields. Trump supporters who were denied a permit to protest the election at the Capitol did not show up in crowds. Authorities say there were no reports of violence.
