Schumer: New Stimulus Is Urgent Priority

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer calls another coronavirus stimulus package an urgent priority.

Schumer opened the Senate and said there is a "COVID-style hole in our economy." He called the ongoing outbreak a "once-in-a-century crisis." Schumer argued lawmakers cannot be timid and must not delay. President Biden is pushing a nearly $2 trillion stimulus package but many Republicans are resisting the proposal, saying the pricetag is too high.
