White House COVID Team Concerned About Rising Death Toll, Variants

The White House coronavirus response team is keeping a wary eye on the still-rising coronavirus death rate in the U.S.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky also noted growing concerns about virus variants during a virtual briefing. Dr. Walensky said Americans should be vigilant about wearing facemasks and practicing safe social distancing. She again warned that this is "not the time to travel." Meantime, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he's very encouraged by the news about Johnson & Johnson's single-dose coronavirus vaccine. It has not yet been approved for general use. Fauci is the nation's leading expert on infectious diseases.
