Congressman Adam Schiff is reportedly pushing for a new role in his home state.
Multiple reports say the Democrat has been lobbying California Governor Gavin Newsom to be the next attorney general of the Golden State. Xavier Becerra currently holds the position, but was nominated by President Biden to serve as secretary of Health and Human Services. Schiff is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and led the Russia probe into former President Trump. A potential Schiff departure would further cut down the Democratic majority in the chamber.
