New street sensors that can spot confused drivers may soon be installed in Sacramento.
Sacramento Transportation Planner Leslie Mancebo says dilemma zone detection is traffic signal technology that allows them to predict motorist behavior. It changes the timing of yellow lights on the fly if it senses a driver having difficulty deciding if they should stop or proceed. The move is part of the city's goal to eliminate all traffic deaths by 2027.
