Yolo County Health Director Says California Is Undercounting Vaccinations

Local health officials are saying California's vaccine data system is undercounting the COVID-19 vaccinations being administered.

Yolo County health officer Dr. Aimee Sisson told lawmakers during a Wednesday hearing that on February 5, the state's dashboard reported the county only used 51-percent of its vaccines, when Sisson said it used 74-percent of its supply. Sisson added that, at least at the county level, COVID-19 vaccines are being administered much faster than the data reflects. Other Sacramento-area counties also reported similar errors. California's Department of Public Health Director Dr. Tomas Aragon acknowledged the data errors and said the state is working to correct them.
