The movement to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom has reached 1.5 million signatures as well as having received a sizable donation from the California State Republican Party.
Anne Hyde Dunsmore of Rescue California says the next step is to get those signatures verified, and to gather at least 300,000 more signatures before submitting to call for a special recall election. The Secretary of State is expected to release an updated count of verified signatures in the coming days. Dunsmore says the goal of the campaign is to get 2 million signatures by March 17th.
