A California Congressman says a COVID relief package currently being debated in the U.S. Congress is expected to pass by mid-March, but some of the benefits included could change or be dropped before then.
Congressman John Garamendi says a push by Democrats to include a federal minimum wage increase to $15.00/hour likely won't survive. The Democrat says he's confident most of the relief bill will be passed in the Senate. The bill also includes $1,400 stimulus checks for most Americans. Currently, the direct stimulus payments will go to individuals making up to $75,000 a year and married couples jointly earning up to $150,000 a year.
