A Sacramento councilmember is working to combat the surge in hate crimes against Asian Americans.
Councilmember Mai Vang is introducing a resolution tonight that denounces racism, xenophobia and intolerance against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Vang says the attacks against the city's AAPI community are unacceptable and is calling on community members and city leaders to come together to address them. This comes amid a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes nationally, statewide and locally.
