Following the explosive interview featuring Meghan and Harry, Buckingham Palace is responding to the allegations and fallout from the CBS special hosted by Oprah. Queen Elizabeth II issued a four sentence response saying they are taking the allegations seriously and she is saddened to hear of their experience.
In a statement from Buckingham Palace, the Queen said "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning." The statement went on to say, "While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said the couple had no immediate comment regarding the statement. It is unclear at this time if the couple will participate in the private discussion following the royal statement.
