Federal Officials Offer New Guidelines For Nursing Home Visitation

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have announced new guidance measures for nursing home visitation nationwide.

Federal officials announced today that the slowing coronavirus infection rates along with vaccine roll outs allows for indoor visitation to resume. This decision comes after a recent study found COVID cases among nursing home residents dropped nearly 80% from December to February once vaccine roll outs began. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services still advise that current state safety guidelines continue to be met whenever possible.
