Officials with Disney announcing Thursday plans to renovate and expand the Southern California theme park. "Disney Forward" looks to add new attractions, shops and restaurants to its already 490-acre property located in the heart of Anaheim. The plans so far are short on details and did not disclose any construction costs, but outlined ideas to squeeze the new attractions into the underdeveloped areas of the resort behind hotels and near parking lots, east of the park gates. The announcement comes on the heels of the theme park saying it's planning to reopen after being closed for over a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Walt Disney Company says it plans to bring the development plans to the Anaheim City Council by 2023. Disneyland has seen some major changes in the last couple years. In May 2019, the park recently opened it's $1 billion expansion "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" and the Avengers Campus is currently under construction in California Adventure.
