Sacramento Group Rallies To Protect Their AAPI Community

A Sacramento group is coming together to protect the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities from hate crimes

The Stockton Boulevard Partnership stationed between Stockton Boulevard, Fruitridge Road and 65th Street is sending out patrols to keep an eye on the community. Executive director Frank Louie says they have not had any incidents yet, but they want to be proactive. Launched last week, the initiative has more than 20 volunteers, and counting, who each carry a safety vest, walkie-talkie, and whistle.

Groups all over the country have been coming together in support of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities following a recent surge of hate-fueled attacks. Marches were organized in the Bay Area this past weekend in solidarity with the AAPI community as well.
