The Sacramento City Council has voted to pass the electrical ordinance that would mandate the city's new construction go all electric by 2026. The council voted 7-to-2 to pass the measure which would start in 2023, mandating any new low-rise building to be built with all electric appliances. The higher rise buildings would be phased in, mandating they go electric by 2026 for buildings over four stories tall. Opponents of the measure say it will make it very difficult for new restaurants to open if they prepare dishes using gas..
