Significant Heat Wave On The Way For Northern California

A significant heat wave is on the way, with triple-digit temperatures predicted for much of Northern California.

The National Weather Service is issuing an excessive heat warning this week for Northern California, with the Sacramento Valley expected to see temperatures as high as 113 degrees. According to ABC 10, typical June temperatures for Northern California are in the mid 80s, but recent weather has been well below those temperatures for days.

Ramping up to about 100 by Wednesday, Sacramento's hottest days should come on Thursday and into the weekend. Experts are reminding residents to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, drink plenty of water and be responsible in wildfire prevention.
