To enhance learning for students preparing for the next school year, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is partnering with local school districts, plus community-based and non-profit organizations across the Sacramento region, to provide students with opportunities to re-engage with the excitement of learning.

The FREE Summer Education Innovation Centers will operate for five weeks: June 21 to July 30, 2021. Camps will be closed July 5–9 for the Independence Day holiday. The centers will offer a variety of integrated hands-on experiences such as arts, social and emotional learning activities, outdoor education, physical activities, and science experiments.

The focus of the summer session will be on engagement and exploration through integrated learning. All participating students will have peer mentors. Peer mentors will be hired from local High School and College programs. Students involved in peer mentoring will learn skills to lead their younger peers and gain valuable experience that they could cite on a resume or job application.

The centers will adhere to all county- and district-mandated social distancing protocols.

Registration

Registration is open, but spaces are limited. Please call (916) 228-2446 for more information about the summer program.
