Governor Newsom Announces Six Flags Tickets For Vaccinations

California is giving away thousands of free tickets to Six Flags theme parks as a new incentive for getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Governor Newsom announced the next $50,000 Californians who get vaccinated at 65 participating clinics will get a free ticket to the Six Flags' parks.

Governor Newsom noted that in order to qualify, vaccines must be from locations at "participating clinics operated by community organizations" that are geographically closer to Six Flags theme parks. These organizations also have proven successful at vaccinating hard-to-reach communities, Newsom said. A list of every participating clinic can be found here.

The tickets are the latest in a series of incentives big and small to get vaccinated, with a $4.5 million value according to the governor. The tickets are not transferable and can't be resold, Newsom said. Newsom also said anyone who gets vaccinated is still eligible for $50 gift cards.
