An investigation is underway after a twin engine plane crashed near a golf course outside of Truckee. There are reports that no one survived the crash and the number of passengers and crew are still unknown. Police in Truckee say it was a Challenger 605 private jet that was landing at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport when it hit trees near the airport. Nobody on the ground was injured. The plane crash started a wildfire that firefighters have been battling. Officials looking into the crash said the plane had a distinctive T-shaped tail and the crash occurred at 1:18 p.m. They said the plane could hold up to 14 people and 2 crew members and they are still unsure where the plane took off from. "We’re very fortunate that it landed where it did and that no structures or people on the ground were harmed," Deverie Acuff, a spokesperson with the Truckee Police Department said. The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are investigating.
