PG&E has announced they've begun shutting of power to about 51,000 Northern California customers in 18 counties - and there could be more shut off today to prevent wildfires.
PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoff, or PSPS, program is designed to reduce the threat of wildfires that could be sparked by power lines brought down in gusting winds.
The potential PSPS is currently expected to affect the following counties:
- Alameda County: 18 customers, 0 Medical Baseline customers
- Butte County: 7,221 customers, 746 Medical Baseline customers
- Colusa County: 568 customers, 34 Medical Baseline customers
- Glenn County: 375 customers, 21 Medical Baseline customers
- Lake County: 4,563 customers, 353 Medical Baseline customers
- Lassen County: 58 customers, 1 Medical Baseline customers
- Mendocino County: 1,138 customers, 46 Medical Baseline customers
- Napa County: 6,849 customers, 277 Medical Baseline customers
- Plumas County: 550 customers, 16 Medical Baseline customers
- Shasta County: 15,836 customers, 1,361 Medical Baseline customers
- Sierra County: 17 customers, 1 Medical Baseline customers
- Solano County: 1,093 customers, 79 Medical Baseline customers
- Sonoma County: 1,864 customers, 69 Medical Baseline customers
- Tehama County: 9,437 customers, 867 Medical Baseline customers
- Trinity County: 61 customers, 0 Medical Baseline customers
- Yolo County: 366 customers, 12 Medical Baseline customers
- Yuba County: 432 customers, 45 Medical Baseline customers
