Governor Gavin Newsom abruptly canceled plans to attend the U.N. climate talks in Scotland. In an announcement today, Newsom cited "family obligations" as a reason why he and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom won't be leading a delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conference. However, he will take part via video conferencing to talk about how the Golden State is enacting policies to address the climate crisis. Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis will now head up the delegation. However, it's unclear how many from the original group will accompany her.
