Two California NFL Teams Advance To NFC Championship

Two of California's NFL teams -- the San Francisco 49ers and the LA Rams -- have advanced to NFC championship.

The 49ers and their defense led the way to a victory over the Packers -- 13-to-10 -- in Green Bay on Saturday. The Rams also managed to outlast their opponents, the Buccaneers, 30-to-27, yesterday. The games were historic for both teams as each entered the division playoffs as underdogs and came out on top. San Francisco beat the Rams twice this year, and have won the last six meetings. But the Rams can't be counted out, as quarterback Matt Stafford only has six total touchdowns with no turnovers this postseason and wide receiver Cooper Kupp is coming off a nine-catch, 183-yard clinic. This will be the 49ers second appearance in an NFC Championship Game in three seasons, and hope to return to the Super Bowl to avenge the loss in the big game two years ago.

The Rams square off against the 49ers next Sunday in Los Angeles. The winner will advance to the 2022 Super Bowl, located at Los Angeles Rams host site SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
