The Sacramento region is in for another night of below freezing temperatures that will carry over for a few more days. Forecasters predict there will be cold air until later into the weekend. More snowfall is expected in the sierras early Wednesday morning but those clouds will move out of the region later Wednesday afternoon. The National Weather Service warns of ice dangers on mountain roads even as the precipitation slows but the temperatures are still low. Valley locations like San Andreas, Angels Camp, and the Foothills are expected to drop to 25 degrees into Wednesday. The East Valley experienced the coldest weather Tuesday night at below freezing in Folsom, Roseville, and Rocklin.
Because of the freeze warnings and overnight lows, the city of Sacramento is opening up warming centers again this week. They are located in city hall, DHA Annex, Creekside Adult School, Capitol City SDA Church, Union Gospel Mission, and Wackford Center. The centers are also part of a weather specific response program where people can stay at a warming center for a minimum of three days instead of one whole day.
