I am a double organ transplant recipient and will be celebrating my 20-year kidney transplant anniversary this summer. I've been an advocate for 18 years and am so excited to have partnered with Placer County to raise awareness. They turned the lights in the dome of the Historic Placer County Courthouse blue and green the whole month of April to raise awareness of organ donation as April is National Donate Life Month. I am hosting a lighting ceremony event on April 22nd at 7pm at the courthouse where Placer County will be presenting me with a proclamation designating April as Donate Life Month in Placer County. The event will also include live music and stories of a donor family, someone waiting for a transplant and myself representing transplant recipients. This will be a really special, fun, and inspiring event for the local community.
