KFBK Morning News Show Recap - Wednesday May 11th

Lead Stories:

  1. Californians are using more water this year despite calls from Governor Newsom to use less water. Last summer, Governor Newsom made public addresses asking residents to voluntarily cut water use by 15% compared to previous years.
  2. A Roseville restaurant who defied Governor Newsom's pandemic orders is now being targeted by state alcohol regulators and faces closure. Matthew Oliver recently learned the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control wants to shut his restaurant, House of Oliver, down for 30 days as a penalty for violating the state’s pandemic health orders in late 2020 and early 2021, and is now fighting the suspension notice.
  3. Drought status in California continues. The series of passing smalls storms in the region have done little to improve water storage for the state's reservoirs, which are well-below historic averages.
