The California State Legislature is moving quickly on a proposed Constitutional Amendment that would explicitly protect abortion and contraception in California. Senator Toni Atkins joined state, county and city leaders in San Diego Monday to support Constitutional Amendment Ten. California is already a leader in protecting reproductive freedom and services for women but these officials want it "spelled out". State lawmakers are expected to also vote on the amendment Monday. The measure would then go on the November ballot.
