Electra Fire Burns Over 4,000 Acres In Amador County, Only 10% Contained

Fire crews are continuing to respond to a fire burning in Northern California. The Electra fire broke out just before 4pm on the Fourth of July in steep terrain, making access to the blaze difficult. The fire is now going into day 3 and has spread to nearly 4,000 acres sits at around 10% containment. Ground and air crews are attempting to fight the fire in Amador County along the South Fork of the Mokulumne River. No structures have been damaged yet, but over 1,200 are threatened.

Mandatory evacuation orders are in place for all roads south of Butte Mountain Road from South Clinton Road to the Amador line. Also for the areas West end of Clinton Rd. and Butte Mountain Rd. running east to the intersection of Highway 88 and French Gulch Rd. continuing south of Highway 88 to the Mokelumne River, excluding Ross Bridge Rd., Previtali Rd., West Clinton Rd. Irish Town Rd., Narcissus Rd., and Hilltop Rd, according to Cal Fire. Full containment is expected by July 18th. One firefighter has been injured while tending to the fire.
