Joe Gilman is also a highly respected world class jazz pianist who has toured around the globe. He has taught at American River College and Sacramento State University and the Brubeck Institute in Stockton, California.
In 1997, Gilman founded Capital Jazz Project, a Sacramento-based nonprofit.
From 1997 to 2004, Gilman was a regular finalist in The Great American Jazz Piano Competition in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the grand prize winner in 2004.
He has several recordings and has played with big names in jazz so it was probably no surprise that he found a way to weave music into the restaurant.
Now Twin Lotus has become a popular music for local artists.
