Full Page Ad in USA Today Mocks Gov. Newsom Over CARB Ruling and Gas Prices

Today the California Business and Industrial Alliance (CABIA) ran a full-page ad in USA Today criticizing what the CABIA considers the latest misguided initiative from Governor Newsom’s Air Resources Board that will raise gas prices by as much as 65 cents per gallon next year.

The ad is a mock advertisement for “Gavin’s Gas Station,” where prices per gallon are “$2 higher than the other guys!” The ad goes on to argue that “with gas prices in California already $1.40 above the national average, commuters could pay up to $2 more at the pump” under Newsom’s initiative.

Tom Manzo, president and founder of CABIA, says the ad posted after the California Air Resources Board (CARB) voted to enact stricter fuel standards which will most likely mean higher gas prices.
