American River Rotary Teams up with Salvation Army to Renovate Playground

Sacramento – The Rotary Club of American River recently completed a massive renovation and revitalization project that will benefit hundreds of Sacramento children. The Salvation Army Sacramento Citadel campus, located in the Oak Park neighborhood, provides youth services for hundreds of children every month.

The campus’s existing playground and raised gardening area recently needed a major overhaul, and the Rotary Club of American River and the Rotary Club of Point West teamed up to provide 80 hours of volunteer time with a grant of $40,000. The clubs moved 60 yards of mulch, tore out old and unused planters, poured a new concrete pad, and brought in a new BBQ grill with table and chairs.
