Sheriff's deputies are still on the scene investigating an earlier high speed chase that started this morning in the Arden Arcade and ended in Folsom where the driver crashed into a building. She died at the scene. This all started around 3am, when a deputy came upon a car, ran a license plate, and discovered it had been stolen.
Deputies tried to stop the car, but the woman led them on a chase, reaching speeds over a hundred miles an hour before eventually losing control and crashing into a building on Sutter Street in Folsom. Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones told KFBK it's tragic the woman died.
The identity of the driver has not been released.
