An Elk Grove Police K-9 shot in the line of duty over the weekend has been released from the veterinary hospital. K-9 "Blu" was shot during a gun battle between robbery suspects and Elk Grove Police Saturday night
Elk Grove Police Officer Chris Trim says the dog was shot as officers were chasing a pair of men they believe robbed the Jamba Juice store near West Stockton and Laguna Boulevards. The two men are in custody along with a woman who is believed to have been the get-away car driver.
Blue, a 2-1/2 year old Belgian Malinois, is recovering at home - a red bandage on each of his front legs.
