Surveillance video is a key piece of evidence in the Sunday attack on the Islamic Center of Davis located just of Highway 113 on Russel Boulevard. It is an attack that is being investigated as a hate crime.
That video shows a young woman approximately 25 to 35-years-old breaking windows, destroying two bicycles, and wrapping raw bacon around a door handle. It is the bacon that has Davis police investigators considering this as a hate crime. Pork is a forbidden meat in the Muslim Religion.
The woman seen in the surveillance video is 5-feet, 4-inches to 5-feet, 8-inches tall. She is believed to weigh between 160 and 180 pounds. She was wearing beige high-top shoes.
The Council for American-Islamic Relations is calling on the Federal Bureau of Investigation to get involved, and CAIR is also offering a $1,000 reward for information that will help investigators.
