New CA Attorney General Takes Oath of Office

Xavier Becerra seems ready to hit the ground running as California Attorney General after he was sworn in by Governor Jerry Brown ahead of Tuesday's State of the State Address.

Becerra appeared enthusiastic after taking the oath and listening to a fired-up Governor Brown when he said the first 100 days that count start now.   Now, that he is in the office, the former Los Angeles congressman says he is looking ahead to the election next year. "I will officially open up an account and do everything it takes to be a candidate for this office," said Becerra.

Becerra promised to meet with law enforcement officials and others in all corners of our state - and to work with the federal government to take illegal immigrants considered dangerous criminals off the streets - provided 'dangerous' isn't loosely defined.
